Breast Study

Thermal imaging is a popular tool for women to monitor their breast health, especially for those with dense or fibrocystic tissue, which can be challenging to assess with traditional screening methods. It provides valuable insight into how hormones impact breast health and is ideal for tracking thermal patterns over time, detecting changes that could signal potential dysfunction that warrant further investigation.

Additionally, thermal imaging is beneficial for women who have had a partial or full mastectomy, as well as for those looking to check the integrity of their breast implants.

See below an example of the risk analysis (TH1-TH5), based on what thermal signs are observed on the heat map (thermogram) displayed on the skin surface of the breast.

Thermalife can also provide STI or Spatial Thermal Imaging which is an analysis based on what is observed inside the breast. These options will be explained to you upon time of booking your appointment.

*Please note that thermography does not diagnose, but rather helps identify areas of dysfunction that may require further investigation.

Example:

Here is an example of someone who showed increased heat in her right breast and right axillary lymph node region. Her left breast was a score of TH-1 and her right a score of

TH-4. This patient had a follow up scan 7 months later and the improvement is incredible. Testament to this patient for her dedication to her health as the results speak for themselves. Her right breast is down to a TH-3 and will still be monitored with thermal imaging as she continues with her therapies.

Breast Implants

Thermography is also a safe way to check the status of breast implants. Breast implants on a thermal view will look symmetrical in size, shape and temperature, making ruptures quite obvious. An implant breach will make the breast look misshapen or a different colour to the other breast. This does depend on the placement of the implant as with some placements, symmetry is not as pronounced. If the thermography interpreters are in any doubt and MRI will be recommended.

Thermography is an investigative tool and results may justify further clinical assessment. Thermography is not a stand alone diagnostic test.
